Ownership and History of Bridgit by LMG
Aaron Bassin, who has a corporate finance background and is the company’s CEO, and Nick Jacobs, a former mortgage broker, founded Bridgit in Sydney in 2021. The company is a fintech non-bank lender that lends only for bridging, using an online application and assessment process.
Bridgit Financial Services Pty Ltd holds its own Australian Credit Licence and is the credit provider for every Bridgit by LMG loan. Loan Market Group, however, does not own it. In July 2025 Bridgit and LMG announced Bridgit by LMG, a co-branded bridging product for brokers in the LMG and Loan Market networks, combining Bridgit’s technology with LMG’s broker network.
Sam White founded Loan Market Group, a family-owned aggregator, in 1994. Bridgit by LMG sits alongside Apollo, Zeus and Skip in the LMG Lending range, but unlike some of those brands, the lender behind it also trades under its own name.
Where Bridgit by LMG Bridging Loans May Suit

- Borrowers who would rather not make monthly repayments during the bridging period: in many cases the lender capitalises the interest, subject to lender criteria.
- Self-employed and other borrowers who need a low-doc option, in some circumstances and subject to eligibility.
- Owners who want to release equity from a property they already hold for a short period.
- Buyers who need a short-term commercial bridging facility as well as residential bridging.
Bridging can be a useful tool, but the structure matters. Our bridging loans page explains peak debt, end debt and the questions to ask before you commit.
