Ownership and History of Apollo by LMG

Apollo is a brand of LMG Lending, which is part of Loan Market Group. Sam White founded Loan Market in 1994, and it remains a family-owned business with no bank ownership. LMG is also the aggregator and licensee group that many Australian brokers, including Ingram Financial, work through.

Apollo launched on 8 November 2024. LMG developed the range in partnership with Athena Home Loans after a series of workshops with more than 75 brokers across Australia, so broker feedback shaped the products. Similarly, industry press describes Apollo as a co-created, white-label offering that Athena funds for LMG brokers.

Athena Home Loans, meanwhile, is a digital non-bank lender based in Sydney. Athena Mortgage Pty Ltd provides the credit for every Apollo product under its own Australian Credit Licence, so the lender of record on an Apollo loan is Athena, not LMG.

The range started with Apollo Max and Apollo Pro, added Apollo Plus for company and trust borrowers in December 2024, and by late 2025 also included Apollo Next, a bridging product for buyers who want to purchase before they sell.
